Terms of Service

Last updated Version 2026-09-v1

The short version: you keep ownership of your logo and give us only the licence needed to run the project. A preview number is not a reservation — your permanent number is assigned only after your payment is confirmed, and it is never recycled. The world’s design may evolve without changing your number, and a place does not guarantee traffic or sales.

1.About these Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of One Million Logos at onemillionlogos.com and your participation in the project. One Million Logos is an independent project (“One Million Logos”, “we”, “us”).

You accept these Terms when you tick the Terms checkbox at the Confirm step of a claim. We record the version you accepted (currently 2026-09-v1) and the time of acceptance with your submission. Browsing the site without claiming a place is also subject to these Terms and the Acceptable Use Policy.

These Terms work together with the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy and the Acceptable Use Policy.

2.The service

One Million Logos is a digital participation project. Participants claim and pay for one permanent, numbered place in a shared digital world that has a fixed capacity of 1,000,000 numbered places. Each published place shows the participant’s logo, a public profile, a shareable card and a downloadable certificate.

A place is a participation in this project. It is not a domain name, an advertising campaign, a financial product, an investment, or a transferable asset, and it does not give you any ownership interest in One Million Logos.

3.Eligibility

To claim a place you must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement and to make purchases where you live. If you claim a place on behalf of a company, brand, creator or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf, and “you” includes that organisation.

4.Your submission and your rights to it

Your submission is everything you provide for your place: the logo or image, the display name, country, category, destination link and optional description.

By submitting, you confirm that:

  • you own the logo and the other content you submit, or you have all the rights and permissions needed to submit it and to authorise us to display it as described in these Terms;
  • displaying your submission in One Million Logos will not infringe anyone’s trademark, copyright, privacy, publicity or other rights;
  • the information you provide is accurate and not misleading; and
  • your submission complies with the Acceptable Use Policy.

You are responsible for your submission. If someone claims that your submission infringes their rights, we may hide or remove it while we look into it, and we may ask you for evidence of your rights.

5.The licence you give us

You keep ownership of your logo and your content. We do not claim ownership of anything you submit.

To run the project, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use your submission only as needed to operate, display and present One Million Logos. That includes the right to:

  • host, store and back up your submission;
  • resize, crop to fit, convert and otherwise technically process your logo so it displays correctly, without changing its meaning;
  • generate thumbnails and other image variants;
  • display your logo, name and profile details in the world view, in search results, on your public profile page and in listings such as country and category pages;
  • generate share cards and preview images that show your logo;
  • generate certificates for your place, including a QR code linking to your profile; and
  • feature your logo inside the One Million Logos project, including in images or previews of the world where it appears alongside other participants.

This licence lasts for as long as your submission is part of the project. If your logo is removed from public display, we will stop displaying it within a reasonable time. Copies may remain for a limited period in backups and records we keep for legal, accounting, security or dispute purposes, and we cannot recall share cards or certificates that have already been downloaded or shared by others.

6.How logo numbers are assigned

A preview number is not a reservation. During a claim you may see a preview number and a preview position. They show what your place could look like. They do not hold, reserve or guarantee that number or position for you, and another participant may be assigned that number first.

  • Your final logo number is assigned only after your payment has been captured and confirmed by the payment provider.
  • Numbers are assigned sequentially by our server in the order payments are confirmed. You cannot choose a number unless we explicitly introduce and describe such a feature in the future.
  • Once assigned, your number is a permanent identifier for your place in the project.
  • Numbers are not recycled. If a place is refunded, rejected or removed after a number was assigned, that number remains permanently reserved and is not given to anyone else. Refunds do not rewind the global counter.

7.Placement in the world

Your position in the world is assigned by the system. Coordinates, neighbourhoods or regions shown during a claim are previews only and are not authoritative. Choosing “another place” during a claim changes the preview, not a reservation.

The visual world may evolve. The current world may later become, for example:

  • a globe;
  • a new map;
  • a different spatial visualisation; or
  • another interactive design.

We may also re-arrange regions or move places to improve legibility or performance. Changes to the layout do not change your permanent logo number. Your permanent number is the durable identity of your place; visual coordinates, neighbourhoods and layout are not promised forever.

9.Review and moderation

Every submission goes through review before it is published. Review may combine automated checks with manual review by our team. Submitting or paying does not guarantee publication. We may:

  • approve a submission for publication;
  • reject a submission that does not meet these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy;
  • hide a published logo temporarily while we review a report, a refund or a dispute;
  • suspend a logo whose destination link or content is under investigation; and
  • remove a logo that violates these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy or the law.

We act in good faith and try to be proportionate, but moderation decisions are ours to make. Where it is safe and practical, we will tell you the reason for a rejection or removal using the email address you provided. How payment is handled after a rejection or removal is covered by the Refund Policy. A number that has already been assigned stays reserved even if the logo is hidden or removed.

You may ask us to remove your logo from public display at any time by contacting support. Removal at your request does not by itself entitle you to a refund.

10.Price and payment

The price and currency of a place are shown to you before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe (card payments) or PayPal. When you pay, you also deal with that provider under its own terms, and it handles your payment details. We do not receive or store your full card number or security code.

Your claim is only confirmed once the payment provider reports a captured, confirmed payment for the correct amount. If a payment is cancelled, fails, or cannot be confirmed, no number is assigned.

11.Refunds

Refunds are handled under the Refund Policy. A refunded logo number remains permanently reserved and is not recycled.

12.How the project may evolve

One Million Logos is a living project. We may improve or change, at any time and without notice:

  • the visual design of the world and how it is rendered;
  • the layout and arrangement of places in the world;
  • navigation, zoom and exploration features;
  • how public profiles are presented;
  • search and discovery features; and
  • share cards, certificates and other share assets.

When we make these changes, we will preserve your permanent logo number and its link to your submission wherever that is technically and legally possible.

13.No traffic or business guarantee

Claiming a place gives you a numbered place in the project. It does not guarantee:

  • any number of visits, views or clicks;
  • traffic to your destination link;
  • sales, sign-ups or leads;
  • search engine ranking, indexing or other SEO results;
  • press or social media exposure; or
  • any other business or commercial result.

14.Availability

We aim to keep One Million Logos available and working well, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or available in every location or on every device. We may need to pause the service for maintenance, security or reasons beyond our control. We may also limit requests to protect the service from abuse.

15.Intellectual property

The One Million Logos name, brand, website, world design, software, certificates and share-card designs belong to One Million Logos or its licensors. These Terms do not give you any right to use them except to view the site and share your own profile, share card and certificate as the product intends.

You keep ownership of your submitted logo and content. Other participants’ logos belong to them; appearing in the same world does not give anyone rights to another participant’s logo.

16.Prohibited conduct

You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy. Among other things, it prohibits illegal, infringing, deceptive, harmful or explicit submissions, malicious links, and attempts to attack, overload or manipulate the service.

17.Disclaimers

Apart from the commitments stated in these Terms, One Million Logos is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we do not make other promises about the service, including that it will meet your particular purposes. Some places do not allow these exclusions; where that is the case, they apply only as far as the law allows.

18.Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows:

  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill or data arising from your use of One Million Logos; and
  • our total liability to you in connection with your place is limited to the amount you paid for that place.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, such as liability for fraud, or any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

19.Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the project develops. The “Last updated” date and version at the top of this page will change when we do. If a change materially affects existing participants, we will give notice on the site or by email where appropriate. The version you accepted is recorded with your submission.

20.Contact

This document explains how One Million Logos works and the rules that apply to it. It is not legal advice to you. Nothing in it limits rights you have under laws that cannot be excluded by agreement.
